Release 02.04.2015

FastSpring's newest release includes a new upload method for files, more supported currencies for PayPal, updates to translations of order pages, bug fixes, and more.

New File Fulfillment Upload Method

Now you can upload a file to your product that is currently hosted on your server by choosing the Remote File URL option. This method is particularly useful for large files because once you type in the file name, enter the remote URL to the file on your server, and click Next, the file begins to upload in the background. You do not need to wait to Verify the file, nor do you need to be logged in for the file to continue to upload.

DevMate Improvements

683.pngDevMate licenses are now quantity based. In addition, if you have a DevMate value set for a product, a warning now shows only when a change is made to the DevMate value.

Amazon Payments

will now be enabled by default as a payment method for newly created stores.

New Currencies for PayPal Checkout

Polish złoty and Czech Republic koruna are now supported as PayPal express checkout currencies. Our PayPal express checkout now support these currencies: USD, AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CZK, DKK, HKD, NZD, PLN, SEK, and SGD.

Translation Updates including Finnish Localization

A full Finnish localization joins our 24 others to become the 26th language that FastSpring supports (including English). SpringBoard now supports the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

We wish to thank TellAbout, who offers "not an ordinary digital photo album", for their assistance with the Finnish translations.

In addition, the Spanish translation of Update Coupon has been corrected.

Updated MacOS Embedded Web Store SDK

To fix the possibility of duplicate orders occurring, the MacOS version of FastSpring's embedded SDK has been updated. For more information, and for a link to the updated file, see Embedded Web Store SDK.

Update to Purchase Orders

If, in Store Settings » Payment Methods, the Purchase Order Processing is set to Deliver After Payment, and a customer places an order choosing Purchase order as the payment method, payment instructions are now sent by email to customer.

Canceled Orders Export Update

A column for country has been added to the Canceled Orders Export. The Cancelled Order Export relates to failed order attempts from potential customers, usually situations where a subscription never began because the initial payment method failed or the order failed our fraud risk analysis. You can run this report and many others by going to SpringBoard's Store Home » Reports » Exports: Create.

Bug Fixes in this Release

  • When PayPal is disabled in Store Settings » Payment Methods, and customers go to update their payment method on a subscription, PayPal is no longer displayed as an option.
  • The issues with URLs in test mode that were leading to the error "The payment method chosen is currently unavailable. Please choose a different payment method." has been fixed.
  • The issue where incorrect prices were showing up with a certain order flow in stores set to Gross Mode Pricing has been fixed.
