Once you have signed up as a reseller for a FastSpring client and have received your login details, this article will help you create orders and distribute licenses to your end users.
Log in at https://springboard.fastspring.com/email.xml with the username and password that was emailed to you. The subject line for that email is FastSpring SpringBoard Access Granted.
Creating an Order
When you log in, your screen will look like the following image. Available Products lists the products that are available for you to sell to an end user.
To create an order for one or more end users, click Create New Order. Optionally, enter in a reference, such as an invoice number or a purchase order number, which will be included on invoices. Next to Order Items, click Add.
Select a product from the drop-down menu that you will purchase in this order and enter the desired quantity. Click Add. If you want to add another product to the order, click Add again and repeat this process until you have added all the desired products and quantities to the order. Review your selected products, quantities, and subtotal.
If you need to save the order for later changes, click Save. If you need to remove a product or do not want to complete the order, click Cancel and then click okay to confirm the cancellation. If you are ready to submit the order, click Confirm and then click okay to confirm again, as changes are not possible after this point.
Paying for the Order
When you need to pay for the order you placed, the process is based on how your account was set up by the company that is providing the product.
You have either been given a credit limit up to a certain monetary value, in which case you are able to deliver licenses without immediate payment (until the credit limit has been reached) or you have not been given a credit limit.
When you log in, if you have been given a credit limit there will be a yellow box in the bottom right corner with your remaining available credit and total credit limit.
Paying for the Order
If you have been given a credit limit you can pay for the order at a later time or pay for the order immediately. Either way, you will still be able to distribute licenses. If you have not been given a credit limit, you must pay for the order before you will be able to distribute licenses.
Paying for the Order Later
If you do not want to pay for the order immediately, and you have been given a credit limit, you can distribute licenses and pay later. You will receive an email with the order reference number, the total amount due, the payment due date, and a link where you can view or print the invoice.
The invoice will only include information on how to pay by check or money order. If you then want to pay by another payment method, you will need to find the order in SpringBoard under Recent and Pending Orders, click Pay Now, and select the alternate payment method. For additional information of paying for the order, see below.
Paying for the Order Immediately
If you have not been given a credit limit, or you have been given a credit limit to deliver licenses before payment information, you can pay for the order immediately following the directions below. If you want to view your invoice or receipt, click View Receipt / Invoice.
Paying by Check or Money Order
The invoice you see when you click View Receipt / Invoice will only include instructions to pay by check or money order. To pay by this method, follow the directions on the invoice.
Note: If you have not been given a credit limit, you will not be able to distribute licenses to end users until the check or money order arrives and the order moves from Pending Payment to Completed.
Paying by Credit Card, Paypal or Amazon
If you want to pay by any other method, click Pay Now, and when the order page opens, click Next. You will be able to review your order, but you cannot make changes to the products or quantities. Choose your desired Payment Method from the available choices, and click Next. If you choose Credit Card, PayPal Account, or Pay with Amazon, enter in the necessary information and complete the order process.
Note: If you have not been given a credit limit, with these payment methods you will be able to distribute licenses to your end users after completing the payment process.
Paying by Wire Transfer
If you want to pay by Wire Transfer (and that option is available), click Pay Now, and when the order page opens, click Next, select Wire Transfer and click Next. You can then see the directions to pay via wire transfer on the screen or you can download an invoice with the directions to pay.
Note: The information on the bank will vary based on your location.
Note: If you have not been given a credit limit, you will not be able to distribute licenses to end users until the wire transfer arrives and the order moves from Pending Payment to Completed. Wire transfers usually take 3 - 5 business days for processing.
If you close the web browser or forget to download the invoice, you need not worry. You will receive an email that contains a link where you can view or print the invoice. You can also find the order in SpringBoard under Recent and Pending Orders, and then click on View Receipt / Invoice. The invoice will now contain the information for paying via wire transfer.
Delivering Licenses to End Users
How you deliver licenses to end users for the order you placed is based on how your account was set up by the company that is providing the product.
You may be required to enter end user information (customer's name and email address) in order to deliver licenses or you may not be required to enter customer information.
Delivering Licenses to End Users for an Order with Customer Information Required
When you create an order, under Available Products you should then see the product(s) in the order listed as well as the Available Licenses you are now able to distribute to customers. The Available Licenses value includes the total remaining licenses available for distribution for all orders you have placed.
To deliver a license to your end user, click on the product you want to deliver and then click Activate Next License. Enter in the License Owner's (end user's) information and click Activate.
You can then review the License Owner's Information, view the license code, and Send the License to the end user. The email sent to the end user was created by the company for which you are a reseller. If you want, instead of clicking Send License, you can copy the license code into your own email and send it to your end user.
Delivering Licenses to End Users for an Order without Customer Information Required
When you create an order and customer information is not required, there is a button to Download Active Licenses. You can then save or open the CSV file with the license code(s) for the product(s) in the order. You can then distribute these license codes to your end users. If you do not want to download the license files immediately, you can find the order later under Recent and Pending Orders. Clicking on the specific order will allow you to download the active licenses for that order.
Note: If you have not been given a credit limit and you have not paid for the order, the Download Active Licenses button will not appear.
